We are Looking for 24 Opera Singers!

1st Semi Final Gala Evenings (Piano & 24 Singers) -> 2nd, 3rd, 4th October 2026 @  6.30 PM  - Watford, St Mary's Church, Church St, Watford WD18 0EG (24 singers & Piano) -> 12 singers will get through to the 2nd Semi-final. Singers should have at least 10 audience audience votes in order to go through to the 2nd Semi-final.

2nd Semi Final Gala Evenings (Piano & 12 Singers) -> 15th, 16th  October 2026 @ 6.30 PM - Watford, St Mary's Church, Church St, Watford WD18 0EG (12 singers & Piano) ->  4 singers will get through to the 2nd Semi-final. Singers should have at least 15 audience audience votes in order to go through to the Opera Gala Awards.

Opera Gala Awards (Orchestra & Singers)
Here you will be entering your role, make use of your acting skills, showcase your role as if in a opera production. Some props will be provided.
13th November @ 7 PM - Paddington, London (Rehearsals with the orchestra on the same day)
- 4 Opera singers will go through to the final to perform with the orchestra for up to 12-15 minutes long each. 10 aria suggestions should be submitted after the results on the 6th October will be released - the final repertoire will be chosen by the Hertfordshire Opera Team.
- Special guests will also feature in the event.
- The singers should have at least 20 votes to be considered for an award.
-  Awards & results will be announced in the 2nd part of the Gala after the interval when the audience will be able to vote. They can vote during the concert as well. 
- If 2 or more singers will be on the same number of votes, they will be invited to perform again in the 2nd part of the gala and sing an extra aria of 3-4 minutes for the audience to vote again.

 
Votes:
The votes can be received via audiences in person or via Online Stream. Only audiences who have a ticket can vote for their favourite singer.
- 1 Audience Vote = 1 (Full) Vote
- 1 Online Stream Vote = 1/2 (Half) Vote
- Tickets will be available to purchase starting the 15th July 2026

 
Awards
  • 1st Place (Most Audience Votes): £1000 Award (Direct to your bank at the end of the Awards Evening)
     
  •  2nd Place (Second Most Audience Votes):  Professional Videos & Pictures from the Gala Awards, 1st Semi-Final & 2nd Semi-final worth £1,200 (These are usually sent 3 months after the event due to the high volume of work). Instagram posting & re-editing of snippets is a bonus and not included in the award (it is necessary for you to accept the collaborations on social media to receive the full videos)
     
  •  3rd  Place (Third Most Audience Votes):  Professional Videos  & Pictures from the Gala Awards worth £600 (These are sent usually 2 months after the event due to the volume of work) Instagram posting & re-editing of snippets is a bonus and not included in the award (it is necessary for you to accept the social media collaborations when posted to receive the full videos).

1.  Two youtube contrasting arias you want to show us.
2. Complete the online application form 
3. Confirm your availability for the London Gala dates.
4. Receive acceptance, event allocation, and rehearsal details.
5. Perform at one or more Gala events and hoefully you'll make it to the gala Awards
